Research Interests:
Dr. Rumbeiha's work is in the areas of veterinary clinical and diagnostic toxicology including renal toxicology, xenbiotic-induced inflammation, and cytokines and growth factors in renal toxicology. His current research is focused in four areas: the role of cytokines in xenobiotic-induced renal inflammation and pathology; the role of endotoxin in xenobiotic-induced nephrotoxicity; Vitamin D toxicity in mammals- mechanisms and treatment; and developing a diagnostic tests for animal toxicoses and discovery of new antidotes.

Selected Professional Activities:
Dr. Rumbeiha is board certified by the American Board of Toxicology and by the American Board of Veterinary Toxicology. In 1991 he was awarded the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology Research Award; in 1989 he received the Roger/STB Fellowship or Academic Excellence at the University of Guelph; and in 1993 he was presented with the Society of Phi Zeta Research Award at Kansas State University.
