Research Interests:
Dr. Kaplan conducts research in the lab of Norbert Kaminski. She is interested in how non-psychoactive cannabinoid suppresses T cell function through the inhibition of NFAT. She is also interested in the biological effects of marijuana. Dr. Kaplan is a co-investigator on two projects: IL-2 Suppression by Endocannabinoid Activation of PPARy; and Environmental, Microbial, and Mammalian Biomolecular Responses to the AhR Ligands.

Selected Professional Activities:
Dr. Kaplan is a member of the Society of Toxicology and its Immunology Specialty Section. In May 2006, she received the National Food Safety and Toxicology Center Research Expense Award. She was a post-doctoral research associate at the University of Chicago, Department of Surgery and was previously employed as a chemist.
