Research Interests:
Current research is on changes in methylation status in murine splenocytes induced by LPS and TCDD exposure. 2, 3, 7, 8 - Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) is a know suppressor of the primary immune response in mus musculus. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is a know inducer of immune response in mus musculus. Exposure to LPS via intraperitoneal injection after TCDD exposure via oral gavage leads to a significantly reduced number of antigen forming cells producing IgM. In my research I will try to elucidate cross-talk between the pathways affected by TCDD and LPS and whether alterations in methylation status are involved.
