EITS Track: Environmental

Education: B.S. and M.S., Biology, Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea

Research Interests:
My research focusses on identifying, enumerating, and predicting the bacterial populations that engage PCBs and Dioxin degradation in the environment. I've been using a stable isotope probing method that enables the selection and identification of PCB-degrading bacteria in the environment, without cultivation. I am also developing new molecular tools to analyze bacterial communities using pyrosequencing.
