Steve Bursian and Matthew Zwiernik received $941,958 from the Dow Chemical Company for Mink Furan Exposure Study.
Colleen C. Hegg received $215,201 from the National Institutes of Health for Injury Evoked Regeneration Mechanism in the Olfactory System.
Norbert Kaminski received $3,006,609 from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences for the MSU Superfund Program Environmental, Microbial, and Mammalian Biomolecular Responses to AHR Ligands.
Positions
The Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work a limited term. LVVWD plans, constructs and maintains an extensive local water treatment system for its water customers. GENERAL PURPOSE: Conducts specialized research studies on raw & potable water to detect unregulated compounds & contaminants; designs & implements bench-, pilot-, and/or full-scale studies for removal of contaminants; operates a variety of analytical instrumentation & equipment; develops & writes research proposals & grant applications. Noblis is looking for a Principal Bioenvironmental Engineer in the Environmental Sustainability Group to support Department of Defense clients in the areas of industrial hygiene, environmental engineering, biomedical engineering, risk management, systems analysis, and health systems process improvement. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will work with teams of senior toxicologists, risk assessors, environmental scientists, and information scientists to evaluate environmental hazards, develop solutions, and assist our clients to optimize their organizations and processes. Requirements: Minimum requirements are a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a school accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), or a B.S. degree in math, physics, or engineering technology and an M.S. or Ph.D. in engineering from an accredited institution. Certification by a professional organization such as the American Board of Industrial Hygiene or American Academy of Environmental Engineers, and P.E. registration desired. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Sound understanding of environmental monitoring methods, technologies, and analysis. Computer and analytical skills required. Recent DoD experience in a bioenvironmental engineering job. Clear communicator, critical and creative thinker, experienced in working with minimal oversight in situations of significant personal responsibility.
